  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in salt, oil, and 2 cups of flour until combined. Gradually add more flour until you have a soft dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl and let it rise for an hour.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide into 16 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape it into bone forms.
  5. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again for 45 minutes to an hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F during the last 10 minutes of rising.
  7. Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese before serving with marinara sauce.
