Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup water
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon gingerbread syrup (for topping)
  • 1 gingerbread man cookie (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, molasses, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Bring to a boil while stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream and one tablespoon of gingerbread syrup using a handheld milk frother until soft peaks form.
  3. Heat the milk gently on the stovetop until simmering (not boiling). Froth using a French press or frother until creamy.
  4. In your favorite mug, mix two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup into one cup of strong coffee. Pour in frothed milk and top with gingerbread cream. Garnish optionally with cinnamon or a gingerbread cookie.
